Okay, I know that you all know me as a pet portrait artist, and that's really great. I love painting my pets (and yes, in a way I think of all of them as 'my pets'.) But I also occasionally get to paint other kinds of portraits, namely, people. And I got a commission to do a portrait of someone this year, and was very excited about it. For the technical folks out there, this was done with the "Zorn palette," a limited palette of white, yellow ochre, cad red medium, and ivory black. I had to resort to blue to get the shirt color, but there is no blue in the painting anywhere but the shirt. My clients were very pleased with the portrait, so I present to you "Jim" and hope you enjoy. I would be honored to paint your family as well. Thanks.
