I'm back from my "vacation," and hitting the pavement running. It was nice to take a break from the art work for a while, but by the end I was more than ready to get back to work. And for what it's worth, painting is work. Granted, it's not as physically taxing as many occupations, but it does require a great deal of concentration, which can take a lot of energy. The process is very rewarding, and of course, the results are also rewarding (most of the time).
This is Huck, and this is a memorial portrait. I'm given to understand he was quite the character, and is certainly a beautiful pup. I'm always so honored to do a memorial portrait, and so saddened as well. There is something so special in that relationship with a pet that makes the loss so difficult.
I hope you enjoy the painting. Thanks for reading, and stay safe and well.
