The Tomato Art Festival is truly a unique event. Started sixteen years ago this year (I’ve heard the true story, but won’t share it here), it grew from a neighborhood event to mid-state event that draws approximately 50,000 people each year. While the art is usually tomato themed, there are hundreds of vendors with a wide variety of arts and crafts, all unique, most all uniquely Nashville.
It’s always the second weekend in August, which means August 9&10 this year. The art show will be the premier party on Friday night (there is an admission fee, but also food and drink) and then the full day of vendors on the street on Saturday. The music will be both days, or at least it has been.
This will be the eighth year I’ve had art in the festival. Since my studio/gallery is no more, the art will be at the big show at the old Art & Invention building. I only have three pieces, so shop early and shop often.
Hope to see you there. Oh, and wear sunscreen.
